Tuesday Trees // Liberty Tana Lawn Fabric // SS11

7 Jan

How lovely are these fabric swatches from one of the new Spring Summer 2011 ranges from Liberty! I know I should probably have waited until Tuesday to share, but I just couldn’t wait! I love the Nordic feel of these tree designs, and also the colour pops that make these designs anything but drab. I’d love love love to make curtains from one of these – it’s just deciding which one I like best! Find them, clockwise, 1, 2, 3, 4.

Weekend Wishlist // Cute 1970s Vintage Mini Tunics

6 Jan

As you all know by now, I’m majorly excited for big-time 70s revival in SS11 collections! For this weekend (although it’s probably far too cold at only 4degrees celcius here!) I would LOVE a cute mini tunic to wear with skinny jeans and boots for now, and shorts and sandals later…

Joy the Baker’s Jalapeno Pepper Jack Scones

6 Jan

I made these and they were GORGEOUS (although I gotta say, I’ve never been disappointed with the results following a JtB recipe!).

I definitely suggest that you do the same.

Kate & Wills // Royal Wedding Commemorative Plates // KK Outlet

5 Jan

I need this in my life. Right now.

So, a little while back, Creative Review previewed the Royal Wedding Commemorative Plates which will launch January 15th at KK Outlet. I probably don’t have to tell you that they’re totally unofficial, or that they’re totally awesome. I want this top one the most, but I’d be happy with any! (or the full set…?)

How much fun was that! I’m thinking I might actually set about designing some Royal Wedding Memorabilia of my own!

More Mountains // Fine Little Day Mountain Wallpaper

5 Jan

This wallpaper was actually designed by Elisabeth of Fine Little Day’s 8-year-old son Otto (and produced in collaboration with Swedish company Photowall), and subsequently has been nominated for the Formex Formidable!

I want this.

Maison du Brésil // Le Corbusier // Cité Universitaire, Paris

5 Jan

I went here last year as part of my Le Corbusier-in-Paris Marathon. It was designed as (and still functions as) a dormitory for Brazilian students at the Cité Universitaire in Paris. Built in 1959, the interiors and design features of this brightly-coloured little gem (one side is a lot like the Unité d’Habitation at Marseilles) are some of my favourite around, combining interesting and exciting textures and lighting with Modernist, 1950s features. Check it:
